Mango Tree restaurant to open this week

The Mango Tree, an Indian kitchen and taphouse, will open this week in the former Fedora location at 1726 W. Kathleen Ave (just west of Ramsey Road).

The menu includes Indian curries and grill items such as Indian-style pizza and wraps. The remodeled place has seating of various types for 200, with families welcome, and casual dining. The business model comes from Canada, where the owners have had nine locations. General manager is Casey Garland.

Attic Vintage, Thrift opens on Fourth

With second-hand clothing, jewelry and home decor, The Attic Vintage & Thrift is open at 849 N. Fourth St. in what was The Exchange.

Owners Dale and Shawnda Rainey also have the Garment District store on Sherman. Manager at Attic Vintage is Samantha Gibbs.

“We have hand-picked clothing at an amazing price,” Gibbs said. “We receive a new product at least twice a week. We don’t take donations.”

SandwichSmith opens in Gourmet-Get-Go

With a variety of sandwiches, sides and breakfast burritos, SandwichSmith has opened inside the Gourmet-Get-Go drive-through at 270 E. Neider (across from Costco).

Owner Blaine Smith said he has 11 planned sandwiches ranging from $6 to $8 and build-your-own ingredients for $7 with optional extras. Breakfast items (available anytime) are $4 sandwiches and $6 burritos. Sides include salads and waffles.

Redline Recreational Toys opens in Hayden

Fairgrounds Campground will open in August

The new Kootenai County Fairgrounds Campground will open Aug. 17 with 28 full hookups, shade trees and pull-through and back-in spaces for $40 a night off Dalton Avenue between Government Way and Fourth Street.

- The A&B Market in the former Dingle Hardware building at 402 E. Sherman will open Aug. 15. Watch for details on it and the office spaces on the second and third floors.

- The Collective Kitchen owners on Sherman will open The Global Kitchen where the Uva eatery was on Lakeside.

- Hibachi Sushi is coming to 221 E. Sherman.

- A Profile By Sanford and a Thai Express eatery will open in Crossroads Center at Appleway and Ramsey.

- A new Fu-Ki Japanese Steakhouse is under construction where the Kynrede Cafe was at 8885 N. Government Way in Hayden.

- Watch for a new Beau Monde Exchange and a new Domino’s Pizza in Post Falls.

- Incrediburger & Eggs will build a new place next to Firehouse Subs on Appleway. Idaho Central Credit Union will be across the street.

- New places downtown will be Live For Blu fine art at 505 E. Sherman and The NYC Piano Bar at 313 E. Sherman.

- Hotel news: Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 2300 W. Seltice Way is being completely remodeled as is The Shilo Inn on Appleway, which will become a Comfort Suites and Mainstay Suites with 138 rooms, an indoor pool and a meeting room for 50 people. Staybridge Suites hotel is under construction in Riverstone.
