TaShanna Celest AngelinaMarie Schneider, 19, of Tekoa, Wash., who is a member of the Plummer Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints received her call to serve an 18-month mission to the Texas Houston Mission. She will enter the Provo Missionary Training Center on July 25. TaShanna is the daughter of Don and Angelica Schneider, also of Tekoa.

A 2017 graduate of Tekoa High School, TaShanna attended Spokane Community College and Eastern Washington University. She worked for Tekoa Care Center as a Nursing Aid.

TaShanna had the honor of meeting with two Washington state senators, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell to discuss drug, alcohol and substance abuse prevention in youth. She was a Royalty Princess for Tekoa and the Palouse Empire Fair. She was the administrative chair for her FRC (First Robotic Competition) Robotics team and volunteered at World Robotics in St. Louis, Mo. Sister Schneider looks forward to serving the people of Houston.
