Indians fall on final swing to Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Seth Nordin struck out nine over five innings for Spokane, but Hillsboro answered with two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Indians 3-2 in Northwest League baseball in front of 3,547 at Ron Tonkin Field on Saturday.

Hillsboro’s Jorge Perez singled to right field to score Dan Swain with the winning run with two out in the ninth.

Curtis Terry hit a two-run home run in the third inning for Spokane, his seventh of the season.

Spokane (6-10) has lost three straight games, while Hillsboro (10-6) won its fourth straight.

The teams continue the five-game series today at 4:05.
