COEUR d’ALENE — A Hayden man was injured in a single-vehicle crash when he drove into a Coeur d'Alene residence early Saturday morning.

Idaho State Police reported that Fred J. Kudrna, 22, was southbound on 11th Street at a high rate of speed and did not stop or slow for the intersection at Lakeshore Drive. He continued into the residence at 1100 Lakeshore Drive, significantly damaging the building.

Coeur d’Alene Fire Department responded to the accident at 4 a.m. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Kootenai Health with undisclosed injuries, fire department officials reported.

Kudrna was not wearing a seat belt, police reported, adding that alcohol allegedly was a factor in the crash.
