COEUR d’ALENE — Lake City High product Whitney Meier scored a game-high 25 points and Sydney Hovde had 14 of her 20 rebounds on the offensive end, leading North Idaho College to a 103-54 win over the Blue Mountain Timberwolves of Pendleton, Ore., in a Northwest Athletic Conference game at Rolly Williams Court on Saturday.

“We came out and played fantastic,” NIC coach Chris Carlson said. “Our goal was to play our game, and we got out to a fantastic start. Sydney just works so hard on the boards. She battles going after the basketball and doesn’t always look to score and finds the open player. She’s just been playing with phenomenal effort. I don’t know if we’ve had a 20-rebound game before.”

Ronnie Harris had 21 points and four assists for NIC (13-7, 4-4 NWAC), which has won three straight games within the East Region. NIC hosts Yakima Valley next Saturday at 2 p.m.

Sydney Wammock scored 15 points for Blue Mountain (1-18, 0-8).
