McCONNELL: Your fault, Mitch

| January 24, 2018 12:00 AM

Who owned this government shutdown, Senator Mitch? Simple math proves it.

Sixty votes were needed to end the filibuster. Five Democrats voted to end it. Four Republicans voted to continue the filibuster. Then Senator Mitch voted to continue it. If Senator Mitch hadn’t lost the four Republican Senators, the filibuster would have ended. Senator Mitch just couldn’t or wouldn’t lead the Republican Majority in the U.S. Senate.

By the way, Secretary Mulvaney decided not to pay our military. There’s video of him saying it was kind of fun deciding how to pick who gets paid, or stays open. If it matters, I’m a registered Independent.
