Tracy Rand Sloan, 46, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 14, 2018. He was born June 19, 1971, in Dillon, Mont. The son of Randy and Janice (Williams) Sloan.

He attended elementary schools in Montana, Wyoming and Arizona. He was active in baseball, basketball and football throughout school. He was a phenomenal downhill skier, enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, the outdoors and traveling. Tracy was always a high energy person who excelled academically and was an amazing artist.

He graduated from Prescott High School in 1989. He studied computer information systems and business management at Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz., and earned an Associates of Applied Science in both fields. Tracy worked in the IT field for more than 20 years. While working for the state of Arizona, he held the positions of Webmaster/Database and Senior Administrator, Systems Manager and MIS Manager. He also was the IT Administrator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona. Tracy was most recently employed by the Salvation Army, Western Territorial Headquarters IT Department, as an IT Support Specialist III, Technical Lead for the Kroc Centers.

Tracy truly lived life to the fullest and had an uncanny way of reaching people in a deep and positive way. He loved the Lord and lead many people to Him. His passion for music was paramount. He began playing guitar in 1991 and singing in 1992. He moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1993 with his first band “Anonymous” and broke into the heavy metal scene in 1994. In 2004, he formed Torso with Jason Tomason and Seth Allen Meyer. He played the best venues for years and attended numerous concerts and was fortunate enough to meet most of his music icons.

With his band equipment in tow, Tracy relocated to Coeur d’Alene in 2006, to be closer to his family. He immediately raised the bar for the musical scene in Coeur d’Alene. Tracy (aka) DJ NiTrace was the manager, producer and lead guitarist for the metal band, “Shred Corps,” as well as the owner and Lead Engineer of “Twisted Studios.” Tracy was also a promoter and was the co-founder of TKO Productions, which was formed in Phoenix in early 2000.

He is survived by his fiancée, Kim Blong; brothers Dustin (Chandra) Sloan of Sitka, Alaska, and Larry (Kelly) Jenkins of Chattaroy, Wash.; his maternal grandmother, Marion (Reis) Williams of Dillon, Mont.; aunts Cheryl (Dewey) Ruegseggar of Spokane, Wash., Marlene (Lynn) Stonelake of Dillon, Mont., and Linda Cochran of Lima, Mont.; and uncles Ted Sloan of Houston, Texas, Kevin Sloan of Farson, Wyo., Tom Sloan and Jimmy Sloan of Lima.

Tracy was an uncle who affectionately referred to his nieces, nephews and great-nephew as goofballs. Tracy also has numerous cousins and great-cousins. Teresa George, Stu Dunn and Fred Ballew were three of Tracy’s dearest and best friends, who never left his side through thick and thin; the four of them are inseparable only for this brief time, until they meet again in Heaven. Former spouse, Veronica Sloan, continued to be a loving friend and positive influence in Tracy’s life.

He adored animals and leaves behind his four-legged canine companions, Roadie and Charlie. Tracy never met a stranger and was loved by all. His genuine heart, non-conditional love for everyone and gregarious personality have afforded him a playlist of hundreds and hundreds of friends, that were family to him as well. He is preceded in death by his parents, Randy and Janice (Harger) Sloan; as well as Blue Cat.
