GIZMO: Rest of the story
Matt Roetter, it seems very obvious that you did not do any research about Gizmo prior to publishing your article. If you had, you would find that the Muellers donate their time, to the tune of about 60 hours a week, to provide the community with an incredible program that provides tools for anyone who wants to improve their knowledge and skills in a large variety of areas. Not to mention what they do for kids who want to learn about computers, CAD, programming, robotics, math, science, etc.
You claim to be a longtime resident of Hayden with six grandchildren. I challenge you to take your six grandchildren to Gizmo and have the Meullers show them what Gizmo has to offer them. I’ll bet they will fight over who gets to sign up first. I would also think, being a concerned parent and grandparent, that you would be excited to see a program of this caliber being offered in our community and being supported by the local education system.
To set the record straight, Gizmo is a nonprofit organization, not a small business making money off the generosity of North Idaho College donating space to a program that has so much to offer.
I can only hope that you take the time to see for yourself what Gizmo is all about. I am confident that once you experience the incredible opportunity Gizmo provides for our kids and others, you will change your mind and support this program.
