TICKET: A positive view

Friday, I made a donation to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department. I really can’t think of a more worthy organization to receive my $90 donation, and here’s why.

For just $90, I had a patrol officer personally take time out of his day to provide a customized evaluation of my speed of travel in relation to the posted speed limit. He explained the many good reasons to comply with the posted speed limit, and was polite, friendly and efficient. Although our time together was brief, his advice went deep and if I’m honest, made a potentially life-saving impact on my behavior. All for just $90! Heaven knows we’ve all spent a lot more for advice that’s less useful.

Best of all, I know my $90 is helping fund other potentially life-saving interactions with other officers and drivers in our fair city. If you happen to be one of those drivers, I hope you too will see the value of your donation to the Coeur d’Alene PD — the life it saves could be your own!
