Doctor turns on the light

| February 28, 2018 12:00 AM

The voluntary disclosure train of local elected officials’ finances keeps on rolling.

Next stop: Dr. Tom deTar of the Kootenai Health board of directors.

“I applaud this initiative of yours!” Dr. deTar wrote to The Press. “Since I am an elected official … I am happy to jump on the bandwagon.”

There’s plenty of room for more. City, county and state elected officials from Kootenai County who haven’t voluntarily shared a snapshot of their finances — a move intended to show areas where conflicts of interest might arise — may send their information to Editor Mike Patrick: mpatrick@cdapress.com

The Press is keeping an updated website on all those who do and don’t disclose their finances. Go to: http://bookshelf.cdapresshost.com/disclosures
