WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The Warriors pulled away in the second half to extend their winning streak to 25 games, beating the Cardinals in a Northwest Athletic Conference play.

“I thought we played a good first half,” said NIC coach Chris Carlson, whose team trailed 39-29 at halftime. “They just came out and shot really well in the second half and we struggled to score. Our shooting isn’t quite what it needs to be when we win games. I thought we had some good looks, but they’re just a good team.”

Whitney Meier scored 17 points for NIC (18-9, 9-6 NWAC), which hosts Wenatchee Valley on Wednesday. NIC can clinch third in the East Region with a win and advance to the conference playoffs starting March 8 at Everett Community College.

Walla Walla is 27-1, 15-0.
