A 100 percent woman-owned and brewed brewery, Badass Backyard Brewing opens a speakeasy-type tasting room next Saturday in Suite C at 317 E. Coeur d’Alene Ave.

With four tap handles and growlers to go, the beers are Not Your Average Blonde, Warpath Robust Porter, First Snow Double IPA and Daring Diva Raspberry Wheat. The place has five barstools.

Founder, owner and brewer Charlene Honcik started home brewing nine years ago on a friend’s all-grain system. They are looking for partnerships and distributors.

Watch for changes in Ironwood Square

The east wing (next to Caruso’s) is being remodeled in Ironwood Square to accommodate Tansanity, which will move from the west wing, and Elegante Beauty Salon.

The new salon with Laurie Scott will offer work with hair, nails and pedicures. Watch for other changes in the west wing because spies say a major business will move into the combined spaces. Hmm. We need another spy to tell us what’s happening there.
