The Idaho STEM Action Center is seeking qualified judges for the second Northern Idaho Science and Engineering Fair next month.

Currently 122 North Idaho students representing 84 projects plan to attend the event, slated for Friday, March 2 at North Idaho College.

Judging will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lake Coeur d’Alene Room in the college’s Edminster Student Union Building with a public viewing from 4 to 5 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony.

Judges must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate subject to provide scores and feedback to qualify students for awards and participation in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Previous experience in judging science fairs at the local, state, or national level is helpful, but not required.

Judging categories include: biology and environmental science; behavioral and social sciences; engineering, math, and computer science; and physical sciences, such as physics, astronomy, chemistry, and materials.
