Red Hot Mamas seek like-minded fun-lovers

| February 23, 2018 12:00 AM

The Red Hot Mamas are revvin’ up to bring the party to Northwest events this year and are looking for vivacious, fun-loving women to join in their comedy presentations.

They are dedicated to enhancing the ridiculous. The group started in 1991, and for 27 years these zany women have been “dedicated to the enhancement of the ridiculous.”

The Red Hot Mamas is a dance/service group of colorful women with a zest for life from ages 18 to infinity. The Red Hot Mamas were last seen performing at the 2017 Macy’s Parade on Thanksgiving Day in New York City and they have performed in London, England, and in two U.S. presidential inaugural parades, winning awards nationwide.

The 2018-2019 Mama season will focus on Northwest comedy performances, celebrating their crazy antics and irrepressible joie de vivre. Roles are available for dancers, actresses, banner babes, and technical support teams. Women of all ages, sizes, abilities, and hairstyles are encouraged to “come out to play.”

Spring auditions are coming up, from 1 to 3 p.m. on:

- Saturday, March 3 | One Place Church, 190 W. Centa Ave., Hayden (near the Hayden Discount)

- Saturday March 10 | Jazzercise Studio, 321 S. Dishman Mica Road, Spokane Valley.

Wear workout apparel as auditions include a 40-minute dance class led by Mamas’ president and creator Mikki Stevens.

Audition fee is $10.

Members enjoy lending a helping hand in monthly community service projects and performing comedy routines to promote laughter and smiles.
