Edna Marie Dawson, 85

Edna Marie Dawson, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed from this life on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, on the 46th anniversary of her father’s passing. She was 85 years of age and was the sixth of nine children born to Earl and Gertrude Dawson. She lived all but the last year of her life in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Edna was preceded in death by her mother and father and her brothers, Rev. George Dawson, Earl Jr., Bill and Bob. She is survived by her sisters, Catherine Jacobson of Post Falls and Mary Dawson of Spokane Valley, Wash. and her brothers, Jim of Spokane and Joe of Spokane Valley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Edna attended St. Thomas Parochial School in Coeur d’Alene and later Kane’s Beauty School, before going on to spend many years as a hairdresser at Kane’s Beauty Salon. In later years Edna suffered with debilitating arthritis and other afflictions that ravaged her entire body. She loved playing cards until her afflictions prevented her from doing so. She was the happiest when able to spend time with her nieces and nephews.

There will be a Funeral Mass held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, with the Rosary preceding the Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene. The interment will immediately follow the service at St. Thomas Cemetery, 115 S. 23rd St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814. The arrangements are being made with the assistance of English Funeral Chapel.
