Anderson is NIBCA’s 2018 president

The North Idaho Building Contractors Association announced Shawn Anderson is its 2018 president.

Anderson has been involved in the building industry for more than 20 years, partnering alonside her husband, Joel, in their custom home building business Monarch Custom Homes.

Prior to her involvement in the building industry, Anderson worked for various financial institutions for more than 19 years with her last position being her favorite, as a wealth client manager at Bank of America. Anderson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southern California College in 1991, where she was also involved in leadership roles as well.

Shawn and Joel have been members of the NIBCA for over 13 years and Shawn has served on the Board of Directors for a year as a builder director, then two years as first and second vice president, the public relations chair for two years and now president.

Spokane – Coeur d’Alene WTS presents University District pedestrian bridge update

The local chapter of WTS (Women’s Transportation Seminar) will host a presentation about University District pedestrian bridge project under construction in Spokane. Speakers will be Katherine Miller, director of integrated capital management at the city of Spokane and Lars Gilberts, CEO of the University District. Miller will provide a project overview and update. Gilberts will share more information on how the project is impacting the transformation of the University District and opportunities to get involved.

The luncheon will be held at Bangkok Thai, 1003 E. Trent Ave., Spokane on March 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Register by contacting localchapter@outlook.com for a registration link. Registration costs are $25 for WTS members, $30 for non-members, and $10 for students.

Potter joins Magnuson, McHugh

Magnuson, McHugh and Company announced a new addition to its staff, Nicole Potter, CPA.

Potter has joined the small business services team at Magnuson, McHugh and Company, focusing her work in accounting and consulting. She is a CPA with more than 12 years of industry experience in tax and accounting services.

Before joining the MMCO, she worked at another accounting firm in Spokane, Wash. Nicole is a graduate of Gonzaga University with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting.

MMCO has more than 25 employees and 10 full-time certified public accountants. Every CPA at Magnuson McHugh is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Idaho Society of CPAs. Several are fully credentialed in other states in which they retain active licenses.

Roth now mortgage loan officer at ICCU

Janie Roth is now serving as a mortgage loan officer at Idaho Central Credit Union. She has worked at ICCU since August 2015.

Roth previously worked as a broker and in-house mortgage loan officer at Century 21 for five years and a mortgage loan officer at U.S. Bank for two and a half years. She was also a real estate agent in California from 1997 to 2007 and a mortgage loan officer in both California and Idaho from 2001 to 2009.

Born in Moscow, Idaho, she has lived in Coeur d’Alene for the past 11 years. Roth is a Hayden Chamber Board Member and Coeur d’Alene Art & Culture Alliance board member. In the past, she has served on the boards of the EXCEL Foundation and United Way of North Idaho.
