Meier leads Card women past CCS

- WOMEN

SPOKANE — Whitney Meier hit 5 of 9 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead North Idaho College past Community Colleges of Spokane 71-55 in Northwest Athletic Conference play Saturday at Spokane Community College.

Cierra Dvorak added 18 points, five steals and four assists for NIC (17-8, 8-5 NWAC), in third place in the East Region. Sydney Hovde grabbed nine rebounds.

Jessica Olson had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Spokane (13-11, 4-9).

NIC travels to Pendleton, Ore., on Wednesday to play Blue Mountain.

SPOKANE — Ryan Alexander hit seven 3-pointers and the Sasquatch erupted for 62 second-half points and pulled away from the Cardinals in Northwest Athletic Conference play at Spokane Community College.

Alexander scored a game-high 23 points for Spokane (19-7, 9-4 NWAC), which is tied for second with NIC (19-7, 9-4) in the East Region. The Sasquatch hit 16 of 34 3-pointers and 33 of 37 free throws.

RayQuan Evans had 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Cardinals. Jarod Greene added 19 points and seven boards, Jalen Burkett 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals.

NIC plays at Blue Mountain on Wednesday in Pendleton, Ore.
