The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office’s sonar team continued to search on Thursday night for Larry Isenberg in Lake Coeur d’Alene.

The 68-year-old Kootenai County man has been missing since Tuesday morning when he reportedly fell in while repairing a motor on a boat he and wife Lori were in.

The search has been in the area of Powderhorn Bay and East Point on the southeastern end of the lake. The water temperature is about 38 degrees.

As of Thursday, the sonar team searched about 250 acres of the lake bed. The sonar system maps an area 150 feet wide while traveling at 3 mph.

The most probable search area, based on the information where Isenberg was last seen, is estimated to be about 1,920 surface acres.

"We could be out there for another week or so at least," KCSO spokesman Dennis Stinebaugh said. "It's a large area. I don’t foresee us giving up any time soon."

Isenberg, a forest-industry veteran, is a former project manager for Fire Smart, a program offered by Kootenai County’s Office of Emergency Management that helps property owners protect their homes and businesses from wildfire.
