Sharon L. Huffman, 79

Sharon L. Huffman, 79, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Jan. 27, 2018.

Sharon was born March 9, 1938, to Walter and Marie (Watkins) Conz, in Maitland, Mo. After living a few years there, they moved to Kansas where her parents worked as farmers. When Sharon was 10 years old, the family moved to California where she would live for many years to come. She had two brothers and a sister, Bob, Larry and Diane.

While living in the Santa Rosa area in 1955, Sharon met and married Donald Eltervaag. They raised three daughters, Vicki, Gerri and Janni, and later divorced. A short time after, in 1975, Sharon moved to Lewiston, Idaho. In 1978 she met and later married Dean Huffman. They spent 35 happy years together in Orofino, Idaho. Sharon was a very supportive and loving wife to Dean, and together they built a loving family life.

Together she and Dean enjoyed creating a warm home where they made gatherings special for family and friends. They also enjoyed spending time gardening and landscaping their yard with a beautiful rose garden and other flowers. Some of her favorite things were spending time with family (especially her grandchildren) and her cats, playing solitaire, reading, crossword puzzles and genealogy research.

Sharon also enjoyed many creative hobbies including making beautiful quilts and crocheted afghans, sewing clothes for family and creating incredible tole paintings.

She is survived by Vicki (Rick) Aubert of Windsor, Calif.; Gerri (Ron) Ealy of Sparks, Nev.; Janni (Rick) Albert of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Sue (Nick) Larrinaga of Boise, Idaho; Dennis (Theresa) Huffman of Lewiston; grandchildren, Nicole (Brandon) Simon, Kelly (Blaise) Exon, Natalie, Leslie and Matt Ealy, Jacob and Ryan Albert, Chris (Amanda) Aubert and Skyler Huffman. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. Sharon’s three siblings include Bob (Yvette) Conz, Larry (Sharon) Conz and Diane (Buzz) Philley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dean Huffman.

The family would like to thank Wellspring Meadows Assisted Living of Hayden, Idaho, for the wonderful care and love they provided to Sharon.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at the Hagadone Event Center (Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course), 900 S. Floating Green Drive, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Salvation Army or Auburn Crest Hospice of Coeur d’Alene.
