MOVIEPASS: Buyers, beware

| February 14, 2018 12:00 AM

My husband and I heard about MoviePass on “The Today Show” and thought it would be perfect for us given that we love to go to the movies and we’re retired. We signed up and were super excited to get started.

We headed out to see our first movie, checked in like we were supposed to for my husband only to discover that it wasn’t working when I tried to check in. The wonderful staff at Regal Riverstone couldn’t help us figure out why it wasn’t working and, as stated in a Press article, getting help from MoviePass wasn’t happening. We tried emailing and calling all to no avail.

The movie was about to start, so I had no choice but to purchase a ticket for $12. Come to find out not only do you need two separate email accounts, which we had, you also need to have two separate Android or IOS phones! Being retired we don’t need two phones nor is it in our budget. This will be a deal breaker for so many retirees. It sounds as if they could use us if they have any chance of staying afloat.
