| February 13, 2018 3:39 PM

The National Weather Service of Spokane has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from February 14, 12:00 AM until February 14, 12:00 PM. Heavy snow is expected with predictions of 6-10” of snowfall in the Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden and Worley areas.

This will be an impactful storm, especially for the Wednesday morning commute, since it has been some time since low elevations have seen significant snowfall. With the winter storm season upon us, everyone should be prepared. Make sure that you have a 72-hour preparedness kit at home and one in your vehicle. This kit should include items such as food, water, first aid kit, flashlights and batteries, a battery powered radio, warm clothing including hats, gloves, and boots, and blankets.

Remember to also provide food and shelter for your pets. For more information on winter storms or what to include in your emergency preparedness kit go to
