PARKING: Downtown dilemma

| February 9, 2018 12:00 AM

I work in downtown Coeur d’Alene. If I leave my place of employment and pick up a child from school, take my kid home, then return to work and park in a totally different parking space, I should not get a parking ticket. Maybe that’s just my opinion.

According to Coeur d’Alene parking enforcement, if I park within 300 feet of ANYWHERE else I parked within the last 24 hours, than it’s fair game for him to give me a $20 parking ticket.

The parking ticket is only $20 now because he gave me a ticket last time for being parked across the street from where I was before, after having to run to Safeway to grab supplies for our business. I had been gone almost 40 minutes. No one else was parked on the road, and I was across the street from my previous spot.

If anyone else thinks this is unfair, I’d love to hear about it. I’m tired of getting parking tickets for unfair city codes.
