NIC hosts high school regional Skills USA welding competition
A total of 45 high school students from Kootenai Technical Education Campus, Lakeland High School and Sandpoint High School participated in the regional Skills USA welding competition hosted by North Idaho College Feb. 2.
Three former NIC welding students who now work in the industry judged the event: Tarnell Brown and Ryan Brown, who work for Wagstaff Applied Technologies, and Jeremy Brondt, who works for Silverwood Theme Park.
Winners will go on to compete in the statewide Skills USA competition April 5-6 in Nampa, Idaho.
