CDAide held its first official fundraiser and introduction to the Kootenai County community on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Plaza Shops.

The new nonprofit — which hopes to provide financial assistance, medical care and other services to employees of the local food and lodging industries — raised over $18,000.

Roughly 75 people attended the fundraiser, which included a silent auction as well as live auctions of four chef-prepared dinners from head chefs at four local restaurants.

The organization is still looking for additional care partners who are willing to donate their time, talent or money.
