POST FALLS — 5A Post Falls picked up pins in seven weight classes to beat 4A Lakeland 57-12 in a dual on Wednesday on senior night at The Arena.

Tyler Morris (160) pounds, Coleton Kazmierczak (182), Terran Sherbrough (285), Roddy Romero (98), Ridge Lovett (126), A.J. De La Rosa (132) and Wyatt Shelly (152) won by pin for Post Falls, which beat Lakeland 54-21 in the championship dual of the River City Duals on Jan. 13 at Post Falls High.

“I was so pleased with our kids, and how they competed against a really good team,” Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. “Lakeland’s tough.

“Our seniors have been great leaders and great kids, and I’m so proud of how much ground they’ve covered in high school and this season. Tonight was about them, and our team sure rallied around them.”

On Friday, Post Falls travels to Coeur d’Alene, and Lakeland hosts Lewiston and Moscow.

LEWISTON — The visiting Vikings won seven of the first eight matches and led 47-5, before the Bengals won the last six at Booth Hall.

“Gabe Zanetti (who won by pin at 220) did well, and our heavyweight (Jackson Kohal, who won by pin) did well, and our lower weights wrestled well,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. “We lost a tough match at 145, a bad call went against us, and it changed the whole complexion of the match.”

Moffat said Mitchell Moffat and Hunter Fliger of Lewiston were in a stalemate for nearly two minutes at 145. The referee eventually gave a reversal and near-fall to Fliger, “when nothing changed,” Jeff Moffat said. “Instead of being a 2-1 match, it went to 6-1.”
