Willard ‘Wid’ Bruce Stewart, 79

Willard “Wid” Bruce Stewart, 79, passed away on Jan. 29, 2018, in Post Falls, Idaho. He was born to Bruce Stewart and Bernice Snyder on March 21, 1938, in Manistique, Mich.

Wid lived in Northern Michigan for his first 18 years, then he joined the U.S. Navy in December of 1957 and served in Europe, Asia, and Inland areas of the U.S. Wid served in the Navy until March of 1974, where he attended the rank of Master Chief.

In 1972, Wid married Mary. Together they had one child, Wendy Elise Stewart. They also had two granddaughters, Porsha and Alexis Alderman. On Oct. 5, 2001, he married Fonda. Wid had a step-son, Chad Mondoux and two step-grandchildren, Tristin and Jade Mondoux.

Wid loved anything that was outdoors, such as hunting, camping, fishing, riding ATVs and horseback riding. Wid raised several breeds of horses for many years. He did a lot of riding and camping with his daughter, Wendy. Wid loved to tell stories about his adventures in the service and hunting on horseback. His daughter was the joy of his life.

There will be a memorial service with military honors at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St. Post Falls, ID 83854.
