Maureen ‘Reen’ Frances Manion, 65

Our beloved Maureen “Reen” Frances Manion passed away at her Coeur d’Alene home on the morning of Jan. 23, 2018. The eldest of four sisters, she was born in Spokane on Feb. 21, 1952, to Robert McCammon and Mary Jarvis McCammon. She was a kind and gentle soul, albeit smart as a whip and fiercely competitive.

She worked at the family businesses, Lake City Lanes and The Sawmill Bowling Alley for many years and later as landscaper at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course. Reen played as the star pitcher for Lake City Lanes softball team and earned numerous softball and bowling awards, including an induction into the Coeur d’Alene Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She was an exceptionally hard worker.

In her downtime she loved solving crosswords and cheering on her Zags, Mariners, and Seahawks with her best friends, Jim and Vinnie! And whenever she had the chance, she loved camping at Priest Lake, where she enjoyed picking huckleberries, playing pinochle, lounging by the beach and above all, hanging with her peeps.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary McCammon; uncles, Jack Jarvis and Mike Jarvis; aunt, Sue Jarvis; cousin, Doug Jarvis and dog, Fritz. She leaves behind her husband, Jim Manion; dog, Vinny; sisters, Cathy McCammon, Margo (Max) Faulkner and Kelly (Mike) Sand; aunt, Gail Jarvis; cousins, Jackie (Dave) Colton, Brad Jarvis and Eric Jarvis; nieces, Michelle (Corey) Boller, Carly Faulkner, Kelsey (Dustin) Hurst and Laurie Dicks; nephews, Scott Faulkner and Wallace Dicks, and countless friends, all of whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at English Funeral Chapel located at 1133 N. Fourth St. in Coeur d’Alene.
