Genesis Prep teams finish spotless in league

BOYS

WALLACE — Jonny Hillman and Kon Ajang scored 24 points each for Genesis Prep in a 77-29 North Star League win over Wallace at Kirby Krulitz Court on Friday, as the Jaguars wrapped up their second straight undefeated season in league.

Ajang had six rebounds, Hillman five assists for Genesis Prep (17-4, 10-0 NSL), which is off until the 1A Division II District 1 tournament on Feb. 21 at Lakeland High in Rathdrum.

Erik Brackebusch scored 10 points for Wallace (10-6, 5-2), which hosts Mullan on Thursday.

KELLOGG — The host Wildcats (12-3), ranked fifth in 3A, defeated the Lumberacks (13-4), ranked second in 2A, at Andrews Gymnasium.

No other information was available.

Kellogg plays host to Priest River tonight at 7.

St. Maries returns to action Friday at Orofino.

WALLACE — Bella Murekatete scored 35 points for the Jaguars in a North Star League win over the Miners at Kirby Krulitz Court.

Rachel Schroeder added 21 points for Genesis Prep (11-9, 8-0 NSL), which faces Kootenai in the opening round of the 1A Division II District 1 tournament at Lakeland High on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Hayley Oertli scored 14 points for Wallace (4-14, 1-7), which faces the District 2 runner-up in a state 1A Division I play-in game next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Post Falls High.
