Change to marriage record publication

| February 1, 2018 1:35 PM

Kootenai County is no longer providing records of marriage licenses to The Press.

“A recent interpretation by legal indicates that statute protects the information of marriage licenses for 50 years. Therefore, we will no longer be supplying marriage information to you for publication,” said a Jan. 24 email to The Press from Wendy Oetken, the county’s recording manager.

If you would still like to have a record of your marriage license published, please email a copy or photo of the license issued by the Kootenai County Recorder’s Office to records@cdapress.com.

You can also send a copy of the license by U.S. Postal Service to Coeur d’Alene Press, Attention: Records/Newsroom, 215 N. Second St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
