Joane Denny (Dickens), 88

Joane Denny (Dickens), 88, passed away peacefully on Nov. 16, 2018, at her home in Spokane, Wash. She was the widow of Jack “Bo” Denny, who preceded her in death by only three months. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this December.

Joane was born in January 1930 to Marion and Ruby Dickens. She was born in Kansas and as a young girl the family moved to California, where she married Bo and raised their two daughters. Portland, Ore., became their home in 1972, where they stayed until they made the move to Post Falls, Idaho in 1996 to be near their first great-granddaughter. The Dennys moved to Spokane in 2017.

Joane impacted the lives of her family and friends more than words could express. She was our constant rock, ever-present encourager and generous sharer of her See’s Candy. She loved her church group, where she made long-lasting relationships and was convinced that her greatest earthly treasure was her family. At the end of her life, she was ready to ‘go home to be with Jesus and Bo.’ She finished strong and proved one last time just how amazing she was.

Joane was preceded in death by her parents; newborn son, Timothy; her sister, Marilyn and her husband, Jack “Bo.” She is survived by her brother, Jim (Dottie) Dickens; daughter, Suzanne (Loren) Miller; daughter, Catherine Denny; granddaughter, Cara (Kevin) Wright; grandson, Rob (Ashley) Humbird; great-grandchildren, Rocky, Madalyn, John, Hannah, Rachel, Holli, Luke, Scott and Bridgett; nephew and niece, Ross and Wendy Grobe; nephew and niece, Kenny and Sue Grobe; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A time of remembering and celebration of our precious Buga’s (Joane’s) life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at the North Spokane Onion, located at 7522 N. Division St. All are welcome to join her family and friends.
