CHARITY: These chicks care
Much has been written about large, popular groups giving to those in need. The group “The Charity Chicks,” with only 12 members, gave $1,250 to my granddaughter, who although she has just recently returned to her full-time minimum wage job, was still struggling to meet her every day expenses. She was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas three years ago and has endured chemotherapy, radiation, a double mastectomy and double reconstruction, as well as three other surgeries to complete this long journey. There is also a possibility of one more surgery next summer.
She is a divorced single mom with two young children and has a heart of gratitude for this small, caring group of women. Also a small group of men, who meet for Bible study, donated $150 to her as well.
Yes, Coeur d’Alene residents DO care.
