| December 21, 2018 12:00 AM

Eight Coeur d’Alene Vikings were named to the 5A all-state football team, as compiled by The Idaho Statesman newspaper of Boise.

Coeur d’Alene senior offensive lineman Travis Kerr, senior kicker Gabe Nazemi, senior defensive lineman Nate Burch and junior defensive back Colbey Nosworthy were named to the 5A first team.

Named to the 5A second team were four Vikings — senior quarterback Kale Edwards, senior running back Shilo Morgan, senior defensive lineman Ryan Linehan and senior linebacker Garrett Hagel — as well as Post Falls senior offensive lineman Terran Sharbrough.

Timberlake had two players named to the 3A second team. Senior Chase Gardom was honored at wide receiver and defensive back. Timberlake senior offensive lineman Ben Schraeder was also honored, and Kellogg junior linebacker Justin Lehto made the second team.

Dan Howard, a senior offensive lineman from St. Maries, was named to the 2A second team.

Ian Farris, a junior defensive back for Mullan-St. Regis, was named to the 1A Division II first team. Farris, who attends St. Regis High, was part of a co-op team this year between Mullan and St. Regis.

The Statesman compiles the all-state teams, following voting from coaches statewide.
