DRIVER: Patience - please!

| December 21, 2018 12:00 AM

Bah, humbug! to the old fart in the white pickup who felt it was necessary to roll his passenger window down to yell at me Monday morning as I crossed the street on the north side of Second and Sherman, because the “walk” sign wasn’t showing, even though I pushed the button, as I advised him I had. I’m sure that turning the corner a few seconds later made a huge difference in his day.

Note to the city: Several of your downtown buttons to indicate “walk” don’t work. Does anyone check these routinely? Kudos for the new flashing lights making crossing Sherman safer, though.

Merry Christmas to the rest of the folks who nicely allow pedestrians to cross, even my old Lab, who is slowing down and may hold you up a tiny bit.
