COEUR d’ALENE — Heidi Sellman had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead North Idaho College past Bellevue (Wash.) College 64-49 in the final game of the Holiday Inn Express Cardinal Crossover at Rolly Williams Court on Tuesday afternoon.

“We got off to a great start and really jumped on them early on,” NIC coach Chris Carlson said. “Heidi was just really active today. She had some extra effort on the boards that was awesome to see. We came out and hit some shots and opened a nice lead in the first quarter.”

Alex Carlton had 14 points, Halle Eborall 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists and Zosha Krupa five steals for NIC (7-2), which forced 18 turnovers and held Bellevue to five points in the first quarter.

“Our defense was just all over them and created fits for them,” Carlson said. “Halle (Eborall) had a good day and Zosha had a great day as well.”

Amanda Luckett had 12 points and 14 rebounds for Bellevue (3-5).

NIC opens the Lower Columbia Classic in Longview, Wash., against Centralia on Dec. 27 at 1 p.m.
