Ridge Lovett

Post Falls High

Lovett, a senior, won the 132-pound bracket at the 48th annual Tri-State Invitational on Saturday, becoming just the fourth wrestler in the tournament to win four straight individual championships. Lovett pinned Kamiakin’s Austin Almaguer in 4 minutes, 45 seconds. “Sometimes, we get so used to how tough and special Ridge is,” Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. “But that kid he wrestled is a very tough kid. He’s won a national title at Fargo as well. For Ridge to go out and handle him, that was impressive. You don’t want to lose the fact that’s it’s a remarkable Tri-State career. For him to do that in the finals, it’s pretty remarkable.”
