St. Maries girls rally past Post Falls JV

ST. MARIES — Madison Cordell scored 32 points as the host Lumberjacks overcame a five-point halftime deficit to top the Post Falls JV team, 58-44.

The unbeaten Trojans led 29-24 at intermission before St. Maries (6-3) outscored them 20-9 in the third quarter.

“They’re a good team that shoots the ball very well, and they were unbeaten coming into the game,” Lumberjacks coach John Cordell said. “We had a strong third quarter, and then they started fouling us. We shot 26 free throws in the fourth quarter.”

Madison Cordell shot 10-for-13 from the floor and also had seven rebounds and four assists.

Kaci Haeg had 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for St. Maries, which travels to Sandpoint on Friday.
