POEM: A holiday gift

| December 14, 2018 12:00 AM

At Christmas I share one of my Christmas poems with family, friends and others. I am submitting a poem to the Readers Write section of The Press. I would like to share it with others in our community and hope you will too. Thank you. Merry Christmas.

God’s Christmas Promise

God made a promise long ago,

It was meant for everyone,

And it was because He loved us so,

That he promised us His Son.

So on Christmas morn, God’s Son was born,

Our Saviour he would be,

He would save us from our every sin,

From our sin we would be free.

Our sins he took upon himself

And bore them on a tree,

Where he shed his blood to cleanse our hearts

So our lives he might redeem.

Although he died, God raised him up

To live with Him again,

And if we believe, we too can live,

Eternally with him.

God has given us a Saviour,

A Redeemer, life anew,

In the promise of His precious Son

Who has made these all come true.

How great, how great, your love for us,

I just simply have to say,

O LORD, my God, I love you too,

For all you promised Christmas Day.

Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed. Joshua 23:14
