BUSH: A real president

| December 9, 2018 12:00 AM

Over the past several decades we’ve had… let’s say interesting people that we are guilty of electing as our presidential leaders.

Kennedy who was unfaithful to his wife, Nixon who lied about the break-in to the Watergate complex, Ford who was the only president never elected and pardoned Nixon as soon as he was in office, Carter who left our people as hostages for 444 days in Iran, Reagan who was pretty decent except for the Iran-Contra mess.

Then you have what may be the most qualified and most moral president we will ever have: George H. W. Bush. A member of the Greatest Generation and the last World War II president we will ever have.

Then he was followed up by Clinton who had personality and charm, but cheated on his wife and was impeached. Then came G.W. Bush who dragged us into war in Iraq because of supposed WMDs. So, we go and elect Obama who gave us more personality and charm with no experience whatsoever that ushered in divisiveness and a new level of elitist arrogance never seen before. Having put up with eight years of that, we elect Trump with no experience, a huge ego, an immoral past and we get more divisiveness.

All of these guys have done some very good things, but not one of them can or could hold a candle to the integrity, morality, kindness, qualification and experience of George Herbert Walker Bush. So what’s next?
