St. Maries overcomes adversity, Bonners

| December 8, 2018 12:00 AM

ST. MARIES — Already down one starter due to injury from the last game, St. Maries overcame first-half foul trouble to two key players Friday night and rallied to beat the Bonners Ferry Badgers 45-37 in nonleague play.

“That we could come back from that is a very good thing — our three cornerstones not being in the game,” St. Maries coach John Cordell said.

Jenna Holder led St. Maries (4-3) with 14 points. Madison Cordell, who along with Kaci Haeg was in foul trouble early, scored 10 of her 12 points in the fourth quarter.

St. Maries travels to Orofino next Friday to open Central Idaho League play.
