Well-Read Moose to host open house Monday

| December 7, 2018 12:00 AM

The Well-Read Moose, the book store in Riverstone, will be hosting its fourth annual open house Monday, Dec. 10 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

There will be complimentary wine and hot chocolate during the event, and adults and children of all ages are invited to attend.

Children will enjoy time with Santa and his elf, as well as story time by Melissa DeMotte, owner of Well-Read Moose. DeMotte will read to kids at 5 p.m. and Santa will arrive at 5:30.

During the event, the book store will offer 20 percent discounts on books purchased for Books for Tots, a children’s book drive that collects books for underprivileged children in Kootenai County.

“This community is very important to us,” DeMotte said. “We are excited to be hosting an open house to share the holidays as well as support a local organization that promotes reading and exposing children to books.”

All the books collected by Books For Tots will be given to the local chapter of Toys For Tots and distributed along with toys to children in Kootenai County.
