MOSCOW — Freshmen Trevor Cady (285 pounds), Grady Woodworth (120) and Nicky Follini (113) made quite the impression in their first taste of varsity wrestling for the Tigers at Bear Den.

The trio picked up wins, with Cady winning via pin as the Tigers beat the Bears in their season opener.

“It was kind of nice,” Timberlake coach Kelly Amos said. “We’ve got a team that has a nice group of juniors, but our freshmen sealed the dual for us. For them to step in, and wrestle well, it was nice to see. We were giving up some weights, but it was nice for them to step up and fill in the point gap with guys out of the lineup.”

Timberlake competes in the George Wild Invitational this weekend.
