Boise State lost? At home? No way!

Yes, way.

Apparently snow isn’t Bronco weather, either.

After beating Fresno State on the blue a few weeks earlier, Boise State couldn’t do it again in the Mountain West championship last Saturday, losing to the Bulldogs 19-16 in overtime, this time on the blue and white turf in Boise.

Boise entered the day with pipe dreams of a New Year’s Six bowl, and ended the next day in something called the First Responder Bowl at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas the day after Christmas.

This week, Eastern Washington will try to do what BSU couldn’t — beat a conference foe twice in one season, both times with home-field advantage — when UC Davis visits Cheney on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs.

As for the picks, Jason went 2-0, picking Fresno State to upset Boise State, and I went 1-1.

For the season, I am 37-9 on college games, 85-28 overall. Jason is 36-10 and 82-31.

We’ll probably wait to pick the bowl games for Washington State and Boise State until we find out which players are going to sit out the bowl game, so they don’t risk injury and mess up their draft prospects.

Yeah, right.

COLLEGE

UC Davis (10-2) at Eastern Washington (10-2)

Saturday, 1 p.m.

NELKE: Four weeks ago, UC Davis came to Cheney leading the Big Sky Conference, and was blasted 59-20 by the Eagles. It shouldn’t be that one-sided on Saturday, but the Eags should continue to roll.

EWU, 46-28

ELLIOTT: The Eagles have been playing some good football in the past few weeks. I don’t see any reason why that stops now.

EWU, 38-24
