COEUR d’ALENE — The Idaho Supreme Court has agreed to hear a lawsuit filed by local resident Brent Regan challenging Proposition 2 on constitutional grounds. Oral arguments are scheduled for Jan. 29 at 9 a.m.

Regan’s lawsuit is aimed at Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney and seeks to block implementation of the voter initiative which passed last month. Denney will have until Dec. 24 at noon to file legal briefs regarding the state’s response to the lawsuit.

Regan chairs the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee and serves on the board of the Idaho Freedom Foundation, a conservative think tank based in Boise.
