DALTON: Recall off base

| December 5, 2018 12:00 AM

We are longtime residents of Dalton Gardens and regular attendees of the City Council meetings. We support the Dalton City Council’s decision involving the Streeter Property and oppose any recall of the City Council and mayor. The City Council and mayor spend a lot of time and energy looking out for the best interests of the citizens of Dalton Gardens and truly care about our community. Those who actually attend the council meetings see what a good job they are doing.

The Streeter property is a unique circumstance and will not open the flood gates for cul-de-sac neighborhoods. The parcel was subdivided in 1975, prior to the city ordinance requiring 110 feet of road frontage, going into effect. It appears that no other large undeveloped parcels meet this criteria, therefore they must follow that ordinance requirements. The City Council and mayor did their due diligence. Please check the facts at https://daltongardens.govoffice.com, on the “News & Updates” tab, and “From Mayor Roberge” tab.

Just because the “Save Dalton” petition group makes a claim, doesn’t make it true. They appear to want to do the opposite of “Save Dalton.”
