PEDOPHILES: Clergy not exempt

| August 26, 2018 1:00 AM

I noticed in Friday’s Press that the man named Nold was sentenced to a life sentence for trying to entice a 15-year-old boy and his status as a habitual sex offender. It makes me wonder what kind of sentences the Catholic priests get for raping multiple boys and girls.

Typically the church simply relocates these pedophiles to different parishes and washes their hands of these crimes. If it weren’t for the brave people who have spoken up about these crimes done to them then the Catholic Church would surely continue to cover up this evil practice and I suspect some still do.

It must be extremely difficult for a person to have to share that they have been raped by someone, let alone a religious leader. These victims who are willing to expose these atrocities are truly heroes in my book.

I would like to know exactly what has been done by the church to punish these pedophiles and to prevent any further incidents of these attacks on our innocent citizens. I appeal to The Press to put together an article regarding this matter including a nationwide summary of all of these incidences including names, places and the correlating sentences so the public can be better informed of these heinous acts.

This is not an attempt to defame the Catholic Church but rather to bring more visibility to the fact that pedophiles may be lurking in all types of environments.
