LAND BOARD: Answers needed
The Aug. 23 Press carried an article “Idaho agencies near deal on recreation on state land.” Have the state Land Board members been smoking more of AG Lawrence Wasden’s stuff? When did the citizens of Idaho lose their rights to recreational use on the state endowment land? Why does the Land Board need to adopt a new policy? Please tell the whole story.
It looks like AG Wasden has found another way to squeeze another dime out of the citizens for anything he can dream up in the name of fulfilling his constitiutional duties to maximize revenue for the endowments. When will he suggest a fee to hike, a fee to camp, a fee to pick a huckleberry (will it be by the berry, pound or gallon?) NO ONE has ever since statehood maximized returns and I know of no penalties to the Land Board or any of its members.
