Post Falls opens with sweep in volleyball
- VOLLEYBALL
POST FALLS — Tessa Sarff had 12 kills and two blocks as the Post Falls Trojans swept the Sandpoint Bulldogs 25-21, 25-22, 25-14 in the nonleague season opener for both teams Thursday night at The Arena.
Kayla Mayo had 14 assists, Courtney Finney 13 for Post Falls. Maya Blake had three aces, Ali Carpenter 13 digs, Maddy John two blocks.
“We started a bit sluggish, but that’s what you typically get in that first match,” Post Falls coach Matt Barkley said. “I was really proud of how we kept our composure. When Sandpoint made a run we were able to stop it quickly and regain the momentum. Tessa did an outstanding job putting the ball away and making the smart shot when it was needed, and Ali Carpenter anchored our back row defense.”
Post Falls plays host to Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday in a 5A Inland Empire League match.
