Chase Saunders

Coeur d’Alene

Saunders, a catcher for the Coeur d’Alene Little League baseball team, had two of the Northwest team’s three hits in Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Peachtree City, Ga., in the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pa. Saunders also walked in the team’s opener against Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., on Friday. “He absolutely came through tonight,” said Coeur d’Alene coach Sean Cherry of Saunders on Saturday. “His bat is finally coming around and I couldn’t be more proud of him.”
