ITD: A license for frustration
Sheriff Ben Wolfinger said it well in Wednesday’s Press. We have gone to Shoshone County for driver’s licenses and titles several times over the last few decades: 10 minutes to get the work done after a 45-minute drive from our home. Given the fact there is at least a 1 1/2 hour wait in Post Falls, and longer in Coeur d’Alene, isn’t it time for the Idaho Transportation Department to do their job and for once get it right? It seems like the more they can inconvenience the public, the happier they are.
Where are our legislators on this issue? They have the ability to change the laws as needed once a year. Let’s put customer service back in the mix and fix the problem.
You can go to three different counties, Shoshone, Benewah and Bonners within an hour’s drive and get right in and out. It’s time to bring Kootenai County into focus, but that’s a lot to ask! Maybe additional offices (Hayden) would help.
