REBUTTAL: Not Huckabee's fault
Mr. Dayton, your letter to the editor printed on Aug. 10 makes zero sense and supports “fake news” people read as gospel. You report “Trump finds witch and the witch is the daughter of the governor who pardoned a man in Arkansas who ended up as a suspect in killing four Lakewood, Wash., police officers.” The Atlantic reported in 2009:
“Clemmons was made eligible for release by a parole board before Huckabee could issue a pardon and charging that the criminal justice system is to blame… a result of a series of failures in the criminal justice system in both Arkansas and Washington State,” they wrote. “Similar to the 1988 case of Willie Horton that cost Dukakis in the election for President.”
Sarah had nothing to do with this decision in 2000 and no one could have predicted what this parolee could have done nine years later with only burglary and robbery charges. Further Clemmons was picked up on charges in Pierce County, Wash., but released only days before the officers were slain.
Get your facts before you libel someone. Trump won. Sarah will defend the administration, that’s her job. There are no lies here. The lie is you won’t move out of America even though you said you would after Republican gains in November.
